Here is a preview of all the animals on the ranch and what they provide for us.

ALPACAS (HUACAYA)

Huacaya alpacas have the fluffy teddy bear looking fleece. Products: soft crimped wool fiber for clothing, felt, thread, and yarn. They produce a well balanced dry manure that can be put directly on to plants. Read More

ALPACAS (SURI)

Suri alpacas have a long silky fleece that appear to look like dreadlocks. Products: premium silky wool fiber for clothing, felt, thread, and yarn. Same as the huacaya alpaca, their manure is great for plants. Read More

BARN CATS

Due to having plenty of feed for different animals, barn cats are essential to keeping the rodent population under control. Read More

CHICKENS

We have so many different breeds of chickens that it is a little hard to keep up. We use them for egg production. The colors of the eggs we get are white, blue, light brown, dark brown, olive green, and pink. Read More

Dexter Cattle

Currently, we have one Dexter cow that we will breed soon. We plan to start a breeding line for meat, and possibly milk. Read More

Donkeys

Mini Donkeys help protect the property against snakes and coyotes. Read More

Ducks

We have a couple different breeds of ducks. They provide us with eggs, and meat. Plus, their waste water from the pond is high in nitrogen, which is great for our fruit garden. Read More

Emus are the second largest bird, and are ratites ( a diverse group of mostly flightless, large and long-legged birds). We have them for livestock guards, meat, eggs, and oil. Read More

GOATS (BOER)

Boer are a meat goat. We crossbreed them with other miniature goat breeds to get a more manageable meat goat for homesteading. Read More

GREAT PYREENES MOUNTAIN DOGS

This mammoth dog breed helps guard the livestock against the different Arizona predators (bobcats, cougars, coyotes, etc.). We also breed and train them to work with livestock, and patrol the property. Read More

LLAMAS

Llamas are great herd guards, and will attack coyotes on site. Many people confuse llamas for alpacas, and vice versa. The easiest way to tell is llamas are much larger in size and have longer, banana-shaped ears. They produce great manure for gardening, and wool for rugs, thread, felt, and stuffing. Read More

MistI

A misti is a hybrid of female llama with a male alpaca. Mistos, just like llamas and alpacas, produce great manure for gardening, and wool for rugs, thread, yarn, felt, and stuffing. They are also know to be beast of burden. Misti are the opposite hybrid of a huarizo (male llama with a female alpaca).

Pheasants

Chinese Ringneck Pheasants are absolutely beautiful birds. They only lay eggs from April to June. We raise them for a meat.

Pigs (Kune Kune)

Kune kune pigs are a New Zealand pig known for their calm demeaner. They are a smaller pig that can get up to 250lbs. They don’t root. This makes them great homesteading breed. They have a great fat to meat ratio. We have them for breeding, sales, and meat.

Pigs (American Guinea Hogs)​

American Guinea Hogs are a darker pork with a lot of lard. They are for breeding, sales, and meat

Ponies

We raise a few American Standard ponies for companionship and livestock sales.

Quail

Jumbo Brown Coturnix Quail are one of the larger domesticated quail breeds that are great for meat and eggs.

Turkeys

We have White Royal Palm, Narraganset, Bourbon Red turkeys. We use them for meat, eggs, and sales.
